When you email or call us: your name, your contact details and whatever you choose to tell us about your organization and its systems.

When you send the contact form: your name, email address, company if you give it, what it is about and your message. They are stored on our own server and sent to our team by email through Microsoft 365 and to a private channel on Discord. To stop abuse, the form counts messages per IP address and per email address for up to a day; the counters hold a one-way code, not the address itself. When you start filling in the form, it loads Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person is sending it. Turnstile sends Cloudflare technical details such as your IP address and browser type, and may keep its own cookies in Cloudflare's frame, under Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy addendum. Nothing else on our public pages loads from another company. Our staff sign-in page uses Turnstile too.

When you browse this site: the site sets no cookies and runs no advertising or third-party scripts. Our own counter records which pages are viewed, the site or campaign link a visit came from, and clicks on phone, email, contact and outbound links, as daily totals on our own server. It stores nothing on your device, keeps no IP address and builds no profile of you. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track are honoured: browsers that send either are not counted.

Server and network logs: our hosting and network providers record technical details of each request (IP address, browser, the page asked for and the time) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

To reply to you, to scope and deliver work you ask for, to see which pages are useful, and to keep this site running and secure. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

Only the service providers that host this site, carry its traffic and deliver our email and team notifications, and only so they can do that work: our hosting provider, Cloudflare (network, security, delivery of this site and the contact form's spam check), Microsoft 365 (our email) and Discord (our team's alerts about new contact form messages). Some of them process information outside Canada, including in the United States.

Anyone else only when the law requires it.

Correspondence with people who do not become clients: 2 years after our last contact.

Contact form messages on our server: deleted automatically no later than 2 years after they arrive.

Project records and invoices: 7 years after the work ends, because Canadian tax law requires us to keep business records.

Our server logs: no more than 30 days. Cloudflare and Microsoft keep their own records under their own privacy policies.

Visit statistics: daily totals with no personal information, so we keep them without a set limit.

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by writing to support@computese.com.

We are based in Ontario, Canada, so the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) applies. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

We update this page before the site starts collecting anything new.
